Meet the new Caston Football & Wrestling Coach, Brady Jones, tonight, April 17th, from 5:30-6:00 at the Old Mill outside Twelve Mile.  Coach Jones will talk with the parents and athletes and the Old Mill will also have their All You Can Eat Pizza/Taco/Subs Buffet that night to purchase for supper is you would like!


CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) is recruiting loving host families for exchange students who will arrive in our area in August.  If you are interested or would like to learn more, stop by the office for information or contact Tammy Wilson, 260-418-7517,


Sign up for Free bowling this summer at Country Lanes in Rochester.  Stop by the office for an info card on how to register for 2 free games a day all summer!


Cass County Little Miss, Jr Miss, & Teen Miss information and applications are in the HS office.  Deadline to apply is May 9th.


Cass County Queen information and applications are in the HS office.  Application deadline is May 15.


Juniors:  You are required to get a Meningitis booster shot for your senior year.  This is required for school.  Please remind your parents and make a doctor appointment to get it completed before you attend school next year. Any questions, please see Mrs. Smith, the school nurse.


Student Council will be playing music during passing periods starting Friday.  The music will be picked from your requests.  During the week, you can put in a song request for 50 cents or pay $1 to guarantee your song will be played.  This is open to junior high and high school students.  Songs must be school appropriate.  For questions and requests, see Tim Kieninger or Dalea Hubenthal during lunchtimes.  Junior High students may turn in requests to the office. 

There will be a summer class session for driver’s ed from June 1st – June 12th from 8-11 am here at Caston.  For information and how to register stop by the office. If you have questions, please see Coach Burrus.

PROM INFO: (Prom is May 9th)

Juniors - if you still owe money for prom please try to get that in to Mrs. Doan as soon as possible.  If you are unsure of the amount you owe stop by guidance.

We have coupons for 40% off a tux at Rochester Greenhouse and booklets in the high school office for tuxedo rental from The Scarlet Thread (Julie Boldry).  She is at a new location, so you may need to call her to make an appt and get directions or see Madison Taylor for more info.


We have jewelry catalogs in the HS office for anyone wanting jewelry for prom.  Order would need to be received by April 24th.  Order forms can be placed in Ms. Niemeyer’s mailbox.  All orders will be placed in a drawing to win free jewelry!


RSVP’s for prom are due by April 27th.  If you are bringing a date, be sure to include their name on the pink RSVP slip.  There is a box in the front office or you may drop it in guidance.  If your guest is from another school you will need to get an approval form from the front office.   Those attending prom must be freshmen or older, but not over the age of 20.

There will be a 5K run & 1 Mile Walk for Brain Cancer Awareness on Saturday, May 16th, at 9:00 am at the Twelve Mile Fire Station.  Deadline for early registration is April 25th.  Race Day registration is available from 8:00 – 9:00 am.  Registration forms with detailed information are available in the HS office.  For any questions, please contact  Evelyn Byrum at 574-398-8676. Any student living in the Kewanna area interested in a Kewanna library card should pick up an application from Mrs. Helt.  Applications should be turned in at the library.


The journalism staff would love to put your pictures into the yearbook!  Upload your pictures to RePlayit so you can be in the yearbook!

If anyone is interested in guitar lessons given locally – you can contact Pat Burns @ 574-727-1414.

(This year the National Honor Society will be holding an aluminum tab drive--this includes pop tabs as well as soup can pull tabs.  All profits will go to the Ronald McDonald House. Please turn in tabs to your 7th hour class; there will be prizes awarded at the end of each nine weeks for top-collecting classes. This collection will last all year, so bring in your tabs whenever you can! Your 7th hour teacher has more info about the collection competition if you have questions! )



Any Junior boy interested in Boys State need to stop by guidance for an application.  We need to have the applications back by April 24th.


Ancilla College visit – Thursday, April 23rd at 10:00 am = If you are interested, please sign up in the guidance office no later than the day before the visit!


Fulton Co. Pork Producers has an Agricultural Scholarship for Fulton County residents, The due date is April 24th.  Applications in Guidance Office.


A representative from The Caston Classroom Teachers Association will award one $500 scholarship to a Caston Senior who plans to major in education. Information on applying for this scholarship can be found in the guidance office.  Applications are due on May 1st.


7th and 8th graders:  Indiana started the 21st Century Scholars in 1990 to ensure that every student can afford a college education. Income-eligible 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship are guaranteed to receive up to four years of undergraduate tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. As a 21st Century Scholar, you can get help finding free tutoring, a mentor and a part-time job, and once you get to college, students who are 21st Century Scholars receive support to finish their college degrees. But first you have to apply. Students and their parents must complete and return the application by June 30 of the 8th grade year. Ancilla College will be hosting their next  Access Ancilla Day on April 28th starting at noon with lunch, tours and panel discussions with current students, faculty and financial aid counselors.


University of Dayton is offering some Engineering Camps this summer and Duke University has some summer programs as well.  If you would like information on either of these stop by guidance.


Senator Dan Coats and Congressman Todd Rokita are hosting Academy day on Saturday, April 18th at 9:00 am at the Lafayette National Guard Armory in Lafayette.  Any students that would like more information about Military Academies such as West Point, the Naval & Air Force Academies or the Merchant Marine Academy should attend.  A congressional nomination is necessary to attend one of these academies and this is a good opportunity to gain information and learn helpful tips about the process.  For more information please check with guidance. 


Any sophomore student interested in applying for the FCYLA - Fulton County Youth Leadership Academy may pick up an application in Guidance.  The deadline is April 20th.


IUK will host a “Visit In Person” Day on Tuesday, April 28th.  They will also have a Parent Night that same day in the evening at help educate parents about college for their students.  You will need to register.  Please stopy by guidance for information.





There will be JH and HS soccer callout meeting for JH and HS soccer players today during lunches.  Look for senior soccer players during your lunchtimes to sign up for information.
