United Together We Can Make a Difference.  Caston will be collecting toiletries for the 2015 Live United Day. Bring new toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, Kleenex, Band-Aids, or other such items to your SSR class September 8 - 18. The class that collects the most items will get a reward! 

 

Anyone interested in ordering a Cross Country T-shirt needs to see Mr. Linn.  Shirts are $15 and orders must be to him by tomorrow!

 

We are looking for new shirt designs for our Homecoming T-shirts this year.  Anyone that has a design idea is asked to submit it by email to emilee.thomson@castonstudents.net.  Please get your ideas to Emilee by this Friday, September 4th.

 

Juniors - there were no daily top sales winners Tuesday or Wednesday.  Just bring your sales sheet in for Mrs. Doan to see and you may be top salesperson of the day and win a celebrity duck, a candy bar, and a homework pass from one of your favorite teachers!!  Only a week and a half left to sell.  Stay motivated!  If you have a Patrick celebrity duck here at school today bring it in for a candy bar and an additional cash draw!!

 

Juniors!  Magazine and Trash Bag sales are underway.  If you were absent Friday and did not get your materials, please see Mrs. Doan.  Reminder that you can pay for prom and graduation by doing sales!  No money needs to come out of your pocket or from your parents!  Reach out books should be handed in to Mrs. Doan as soon as possible.  Your Celebrity duck and candy bars are waiting!!

Caston SADD club is raising awareness about National Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th.  They are selling t-shirts to wear on September 10th to promote awareness.  Please have your money and order form turned in today to the High School Office. Let's make sure all students know we want to see them tomorrow!

 

Beginning Friday, September 11th, the National Honor Society will be offering tutoring for any interested students in grades 7-12. Tutoring will take place on Monday and Friday mornings from 7:50-8:20 am in Ms. Miller's room (Rm 227, Spanish classroom). If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Miller.

 

Caston’s Got Talent hosted by the Caston Concert Choir will be September 21st in the cafeteria.  Elementary students will perform at 6:00 pm followed by the Jr/Sr High at 7:30 pm.  Faculty, staff, and student clubs are encouraged to form groups and perform as well.  There are prizes awarded to the top 3 entries in each division.  Please pick up an entry form from the front office or the music room.

 

 

Students…Check your emails for car registration forms and handbook forms.  Make sure you check your spam file if you don’t find anything in your inbox.

 

JH Students that went on the Washington DC trip:  If you have not picked up your Washington group picture yet, you may pick it up in the high school office.

 

The visiting dentist will be here September 14th.  Sign up forms are in the HS office and are due back this Friday, September 4th.  All students/staff that would like to see the dentist are eligible.  If you have any questions, please stop by the office or see the nurse.

 

The American Driving Academy is taking signups for a Logansport Fall Driver Education Class at the Logansport High School, September 19th – October 18th (Saturdays and Sundays 2:30 – 5:30 pm).  For more information and to register call 765-453-5665.

?CLUBS/MEETINGS:

Key Club dues are due October 1st.

 

Next week the High School Art Club will begin having meetings every Thursday morning at 7:30 am in the Art room.  If you are interested there is a sign up sheet hanging outside the art room.  A club t-shirt logo will be voted on at the 1st club meeting on September 10th!  The club will enable out of class time to work on art class projects, create student led projects, compose portfolio level art work, be a creative outlet, empower self expression, and guide self motivation! 

 

The High School Student Council will meet every Wednesday until further notice to discuss Homecoming activities.  Please take your lunch to Mrs. Shultz’s room.

 

There will be a Caston Christian Club meeting today during lunch. JH will meet in Mr. Evans' room. High school will meet in Ms. Miller's room. Please take your lunch with you.

University of Saint Francis (Fort Wayne, IN) will be holding a Talent Scholarship Day on October 10 and December 4 for any seniors interested in submitting portfolios or auditioning for scholarships to attend USF. Call 260-399-7700 to reserve your spot/time. Visit art.sf.edu for more info.

If you are interested in attending any of our military academies after graduation you are invited to attend Service Academy Night with Congresswoman Jackie Walorski on Tuesday, September 22nd from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the Mishawaka Public Library.  You can learn about the academies, get details on the application process, and meet academy representatives.  For more information stop by the guidance office.

Boys Basketball pre-season workouts begin next Tuesday, Sept 8th @ 6:45 AM.  These are open to all boys 7-12 playing basketball this year.  See Coach Evans for a September schedule.

 

There will be a mandatory meeting in Coach Evans room during lunch tomorrow, Sept. 4th for all High School boys interested in playing basketball.

 

Reminder - Baseball open fields have started for players in grades 7-12.  Open fields are from 6:30-7:30 pm each Monday.  Any questions, see Coach Mollenkopf.  There will be no open field on Labor Day.
