Co-op students: Reminder that your class is back on Thursdays again and you are to bring your books and workbooks to class.
Reminder: Today is the last day for the extended day schedule. Tomorrow we will be on our original schedule with a school start time of 8:30 am. Also, beginning tomorrow, we will not have success period for the remainder of the year.
There will be a prom committee meeting today during lunch.
Seniors: Your first payment for your senior trip, of at least $50, is due this Friday, April 25th, to Mr. Huffman. Checks should be made out to “Caston High School”. Also, make sure your have the Parent form and Medical Consent Forms turned in by this Friday as well, even if you are 18!
Prom: If your prom guest is not a Caston student you will need to get approval for them to attend. Forms are in the HS office and are due to the office by May 8th. Directions and details of the prom will be provided the week before prom. It may be a good idea to carpool since parking will be limited. Also, remember light refreshments will be provided so if you want a full meal you may want to eat prior to arrival.
Miss Cass County Queen applications are available in the HS office. Young ladies between the ages of 18 and 22 as of May 18th are eligible to compete. Stop by the office for more information or contact the pageant director, Grace Scott, at email@example.com or call the CassCounty Extension Office.
Caston Cheerleaders have their annual landscaping mulch ready for all your spring projects. The mulch is $33/per yard. A yard is 2 farm tractor loader buckets full. Three yards will fill a standard size pick-up bed. The mulch can be loaded after school and on weekends. Some delivery is available. Call 574-835-1478 for information or to schedule pick-up. Please consider us for your mulch this year! Same mulch as D&R in Logansport, but a least $3.00 less per yard!
The Caston HS Drama Club will perform “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” this Friday evening, April 25th and Friday, May 2nd in the Caston Cafetorium at 7:00 pm. $3 for students and $5 for adults. There will be refreshments!
The American Driving Academy is offering a driver education class at Logansport High School June 9th – June 20th. For more information please pick up a flyer in the office.

Team KIK (Kids inspiring our Komunity) is hosting Fulton County’s 1st 5K Color Race on June 21 at the Rochester Moose. For information is in the HS office.

There will be a 5K run and 1 mile walk for Brain Cancer Awareness on May 17th at the Twelve Mile Fire Station. Early registration is $10 and T-shirts are available to order for $15. Early registration forms are available in the HS and Elementary offices and are due April 20th. Registration after April 20th will be $15. T-shirts will be available on the day of the race but quantities will be limited. Stop by the offices for more information.
Nathan Wilson and Michael Smith will be traveling this summer to deliver humanitarian aid to children and families in the Dominican Republic. They will be collecting baseball caps with any Major League Baseball logo and also gloves, bats, baseballs and/or softballs to take to give away. If you have new or gently used caps or balls you would like to donate, there will be a box in the office for you to place them in.
Caston Christian Club (Previously FCA) will meet every Wednesday during lunch.

IU Kokomo will be hosting a VIP Day on Wednesday, April 23rd. If you are interested and need more info, stop by guidance.
The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) will be sponsoring two camps this summer. One is in Logansport, June 23rd to 27th. The other is in Rochester, June 16th to 18th. There are applications in the guidance office. Time is short to get your applications in, they are due this Friday, April 25th. If you are interested in nursing or other related medical field you should check out the camps!
Seniors, if you are planning to attend Ivy Tech, there is a scholarship available. The due date is next Monday, April 28th, and applications are in the Guidance office.
Guidance office has just received 2 new scholarships that are due May 1st. They are the Donald Michael Memorial Scholarship and the Jamie Rouch Arts Scholarship. Stop by guidance to pick up an application.
North Central Indiana has a scholarship, American Society for Quality Scholarship. The due date is May 4th and applications are in the Guidance Office.
Registration deadline is approaching for the next ACT test date. If you need to take the ACT before the end of the school year May 9th is the deadline. Please see the link below for registration information. Remember, if you have free or reduced lunch assistance you may obtain a fee waiver from guidance for the test. Students entering grades 8th-11th next year and interested in studying engineering and technology, should consider STEM, a summer program offered by the United States Naval Academy. If you would like more information stop by guidance.
Manchester University is also hosting a spring campus visit day on Friday, April 25th.
Any sophomore student who resides in Fulton County is eligible to apply for the Fulton County Youth Leadership Academy. Applications are in the guidance office and are due back to guidance by April 25th.
Saturday, April 26th, United States Senator Dan Coats invites all interested students and parents to attend Indiana Service Academy Day. This is an opportunity to meet with representatives from the Air Force, Marine, Military, Naval and Coast Guard Academies. Check with guidance for more info.
Logansport/Cass County Airport is sponsoring a Young Eagles Flight Rally on Saturday, April 26th for students between the ages 8 and 17. Students will learn what makes an airplane fly and demonstration flights will be given. If you would like more info stop by guidance.
The PurdueEntrepreneurAcademy is offering a week long program (June 22-27) for current Sophomores and Juniors. The academy is focused on teaching students the key principles of starting a company while applying these principles to an actual business case. Students stay on Purdue’s campus during the program at no cost and there are opportunities to win tuition vouchers. If you are interested please stop by guidance.
