Drama club will have a coffeehouse tomorrow morning before school in the south gym lobby.


The Caston Chargers will play for the Cass County Youth League Championship this Sunday against Delphi. Kickoff will be at 6 PM at the Logansport Berry Bowl. Come out and support your future Comets!"


Picture Retake day is November 12th.  Retakes will begin at 8:30 am.

The Caston Music Department Fall Concert is October 20th at 7 p.m. in the High School Gym. The concert is free and will feature the bands and choirs in grades 7-12.  There will be a Haps Chicken Bash before the concert from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are available from any music student or Mr. and Mrs. Byrn and must be purchased in advance. Cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 8 and under. Meal includes broasted chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, dinner roll, cookie, and drink.  We hope to see everyone on October 20th for a great evening of music and entertainment!


Caston will be hosting our Veterans Day Program once again this year on November 11, 2015.  All Veterans, retired or active, are invited.  Please RSVP to Mrs. Sailors at (574)857-3505. ext. 315 by November 4th if you plan to attend.  If Veterans could get a service picture to Mr. Huffman by email ( , mail, or drop off at HS office) before November 6th that would be helpful in recognizing our veterans that attend.  Please include your full name, dates in Service, and branch of Service when you RSVP or with your pictures.  Any non-digital copies of pictures will be returned to the submitting Veteran on the 11th.   Thanks to all of our Veterans for their service!  


The Caston High School Key Club is collecting donations for local animal shelters. To increase donations, we will have a Junior High "Fun Friday" on Oct. 9th and High School  "Fun Friday" on Oct. 16th. During these Friday Success periods, students who bring in at least two animal shelter donations will be able to go to the gym and listen to music, play games (ping pong, corn hole, hillbilly golf, and more), and get a treat. Donations should be delivered to Mrs. Shultz's room in the mornings on Monday through Friday. She will then give the students a pass to give to the Success period teacher.  Examples of items to donate: NO NEWSPAPER PLEASE, CAT LITTER, CANDLES, DOG BEDS, BLEACH, HAND SOAP, LAUNDRY SOAP, DISH SOAP, SOFT DOG TREATS, LEASHES & COLLARS, TOILET PAPER, COPY PAPER, PAPER TOWELS, CAT & KITTEN FOOD (DRY & WET), DOG & PUPPY FOOD (DRY & WET), GENTLY USED TOWELS, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CAT LITTER BOXES, PUPPY/KITTEN FORMULA, CAT & DOG TOYS


Guiding Good Choices being offered at the Fulton Baptist Center in Fulton for parents, grandparents, and guardians to learn how to strengthen their bonds with their children and reduce the risk that their children will use drugs.  The 5 week program is being offered by Drug Free Fulton County on Oct 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, and November 2nd from 5 – 8 pm.  Parents will learn specific strategies to help their children avoid drug use, and other adolescent problem behaviors, and develop into healthy adults.  There is no cost to parents.  Those who complete the workshop will receive a $25 gift card.  Free childcare and meals will be provided if you pre-register.  To register call the Fulton Library at 574-857-3895 or call Heather Green at 574-817-0488 or by email at


National Honor Society will tutor any interested students in grades 7-12, any subject, on Monday and Friday mornings 7:50-8:20 am in Ms. Miller's room (Rm 227, Spanish classroom). Interested students (or parents) should contact Ms. Miller ahead of time so she can have the best person available for the subject needed!  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Miller. Coach Burrus’s Indiana All Star Driving School has online registration available for Driver’s Training.  A class will be offered over Christmas Break at Rochester Airport.  They offer flexible drive times, including nights and weekends, online driver’s education class, and flexible pickup spots.  For more information stop by the office, check out the fliers posted, visit, or call 765-226-0511.

The High School Art Club will meet during lunch TODAY. 


Key Club will meet TOMORROW morning at 8:00 am.  There is a lot to discuss at the meeting so members should try to make it.  There will be donuts tomorrow morning.  If you haven't paid your dues yet, please take care of this soon.


Poetry Club will meet TOMORROW, during lunch.


FRIDAY: 7th grade boy basketball callout meeting for 7th grade boys interested in playing basketball this year.  Meet during lunch in the sewing lab. Get your tray quickly and get to the meeting.  Coach Zartman will meet you there.


The Sophomore class will meet with Ms. Angie Miller in the library TOMORROW during success period.


Drama will have a callout meeting next Monday, October 12th, at 5:30 pm for the fall Murder mystery " Once upon a Murder".


The JH and HS CCC clubs will meet every Thursday during lunch.  The JH meets in Coach Evans room and the HS will meet in Ms. Miller’s room.



Seniors who live in Fulton County:  You may begin the process of applying for The Northern Indiana Community Foundation Lilly Scholarship.  The application is online and may be accessed at their website  The scholarship is listed on the Caston website under guidance and scholarships, as well. 


The IU School of Dentistry has a special day for anyone interested in pursuing a career as a dental assistant or a dental hygienist.  Faculty will give tours and provide information about both majors.  Participants will have lots of time to ask questions.  Saturday, November 7th, from 9:00 – 12:00 noon.  You need to register for this event.  For location, parking, and more info please stop by the HS office for a flyer.


Any middle level and high school level student who has done volunteer work may apply for the 2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.  The deadline is November 3, 2015.  If you would like to apply, or know someone who is eligible, you may go to or


The Purdue Women in Engineering Program is sponsoring a program called Seniors Exploring Engineering at Purdue. This program is geared toward women in their senior year of high school interested in engineering.  The program is October 19th.  If interested stop by guidance to register.


Seniors:  Make sure you check the Caston website for scholarships on a regular basis.  If you have any questions, check with the guidance office.


Any students interested in studying abroad for a summer can participate in IU Honors Program in Foreign Languages summer study abroad program. See Mrs. Ashbaugh in guidance or visit for more info.


University of Saint Francis (Fort Wayne, IN) will be holding a Talent Scholarship Day on October 10 and December 4 for any seniors interested in submitting portfolios or auditioning for scholarships to attend USF. Call 260-399-7700 to reserve your spot/time. Visit for more info.
